Lewisham
Brief
Alterations and additions to an existing free standing Victorian terrace. The existing rear was both hot in summer and cold in winter.
Design Response
The project centred around providing a rear addition that opened up to the existing landscape. Allowing the owners both landscape architects a natural workshop for experimenting.
It was important to retain the existing period features of the front four rooms that the owners love. As a result the house becomes a dichotomy of cosy 19th Century closed rooms with high ceilings, and an open modern flow of spaces to the garden.
