The Ideal House
Since 1970 our houses have doubled in size and sites have reduced by half. The result is an overcrowded ground floor, too much site coverage and not enough landscape. By lifting the house up, the landscape can be re-instated, and the ground plane reclaimed for outdoor recreation.
This project proposes a method for reclaiming the precious open space that is the reason many people move to the suburbs.
